Book Wrap Design: Earthly Observations
“Earthly Observations: A Year in Haiku” is a self-published book of poems by creative writer and author, Christy Umberger. My role was to create a book wrap design that reflects the dreamy, organic, and minimalist nature of her writing––a frosty greyscale background (original image provided by the author), thin-weight elegant typography, and hand-illustrated iconography. No generative AI included in the process.
Illustrated Iconography
A collection of hand-drawn natural elements–– featured on the book cover, back cover, and chapter dividers––visually reflect the style of Umberger’s writing: arcane, soft, seasonal.
